AWARENESS (www.aware-project.eu) is a FET coordination action funded by the European Commission under FP7 and provides support for researchers interested in  Self-Awareness in Autonomic Systems.

AWARENESS has sponsored a best paper award for papers on topics related with its scope.

Papers submitted to WIVACE2012 have been judged by:

  • Prof Emma Hart, Edinburgh Napier University, UK
  • Assoc Prof Giacomo Cabri, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy
  • Prof Gusz Eiben, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands
  • Dr Jeremy Pitt, Imperial College London, UK

 

The winners have been Yvonne Bernard, Lukas Klejnowski, David Bluhm, Jörg Hähner and Christian Müller-Schloer with the paper "An Evolutionary Approach to Grid Computing Agents".

They have been awarded a free place at the Awareness Summer School to be held in Edinburgh from 10-16 June 2012, which provides a number of lectures and tutorials on self-awareness in autonomic systems. The prize is transferable to another person if the winner is unable to attend.  The free summer school place includes six nights' accommodation, all meals, all lectures, tutorials plus any materials provided over the week.
